Sponsoring an award
Canadian University Press works with many different organizations in order to facilitate the JHM awards. Suggestions for awards categories come from our staff, our membership, and potential sponsors. We're always willing to work with outside organizations and facilitate awards that bring attention to specific niche reporting sections, our special causes.

The Tyee is an online based news outlet based in BC. They regularly sponsor the investigative and solutions oriented writing awards.
CWA/SCA Canada
CWA/SCA Canada is the oldest media union in Canada. They are the sponsors of the labour and diversity reporting awards
Campus Plus
Campus Plus is the largest company in Canada for placement of ads in post-secondary student newspapers. They regularly sponsor the design award, and made the creation of the awards possibly by providing a matching donation in the early years of the JHM awards.
Canadian Press
The Canadian Press sponsored the news writing award in 2004, 2007, 2008, and 2009.
